No More ABIT

Taiwan-based motherboard manufacturer Abit will be closed down by owner Universal Scientific Industrial (USI) on December 31, according to tech site TweakTown.
Abit was founded in 1989, and quickly became one of the most popular motherboard makers in the industry.
Following a period of rapid growth, Abit was investigated for questionable accounting practices in 2004. The company was later accused of inflating its sales numbers, leading the Taiwan Stock Exchange to downgrade its shares.
The Abit brand and the majority of its assets were sold to USI in 2006. Following continually disappointing sales, rumors circulated earlier this year that Abit might leave the motherboard business. TweakTown reports that Abit had been left with only one new product line this year: a combination digital picture frame/printer.(taken from asscrewz.com)
